This document contains information on important steps that you might need to take when upgrading Beautiful Transitions. Please also refer the release notes. If you have issues that are not covered by the below then please get in contact via our forums at http://www.flipwebapps.com or send an email to me directly at mark_a_hewitt@yahoo.co.uk GENERAL UPGRADE NOTES - Before upgrading always take a backup copy of you project so, incase of problems, you have a working baseline and can refer old settings. - Delete the old /FlipWebApps/BeautifulTransitions folder before upgrading to cater for possible conflicts. - Read the release notes for an overview of changes. VERSION UPGRADE NOTES v5.1 - Start and Complete events are passed the underlying TransitionStep object if the target method defines this. In case of issues verify that you don't need to reselect the targets. - If using Game Framework actions then you will need to upgrade to Game Framework v5.0.2+ v5.0 This version features a number of larger changes including some updates to the API that were necessary to allow for current and future improvements. It also introduces the concept of actions which greatly improves on the existing functionality. - The namespace for all classes has been simplified, dropping the FlipWebApps prefix. Run a search replace on all files changing "using FlipWebApps.BeautifulTransitions" to "using BeautifulTransitions" - The TransitionStep API introduces a new parameter 'timeUpdateMethod' that allows for setting whether to use game, or unscaled time. If you get compile errors relating to the number of parameters that constructors take then please add in this extra parameter, or move to using named parameters. - TransitionStep: Progress.set is made private and ProgressUpdated parameter removed - read from Progress instead, EaseValue() is made protected and renamed to ValueFromProgress() - TransitionStep: Start / Complete callbacks are updated to take a TransitionStep parameter for easy reference back to the calling TransitionStep. Please add this parameter to call back methods. - TransitionStep: Update callback parameter is changed from float to TransitionStep. Please update call back method parameters accordingly and reference TransitionStep.Progress in you method. - TransitionStep: The deprecated MoveTarget transition is removed. Use the API compatible Move transition instead. - TransitionStep: XxxFromOriginal() methods corrected to start from the original rather than current value as per their name. Swap to use XxxFromCurrent() if you want the old behaviour. - TransitionBase ValueUpdated method is removed and replaced with TransitionInUpdate and TransitionOutUpdate. Rename / add methods if you need to override these - TransitionsBase TransitionXxStart / Complete methods are updated to take a TransitionStep parameter for easy reference back to the calling TransitionStep. Please add this parameter to any overrides. Upgrading to Earlier Versions - Please contact if issues.
